ok so sum happened today and idk whether it was wrong????

so i was saying hi to this one dude n his gf n i said

"hi _, hi _'s gf" n she seemed sad abt it n the guy said
"her name is _" in a more serious voice

thinking about it at first i was highkey confused cuz idk why tht reaction happened
cuz i didnt realize wut could be wrong w that cuz i feel like ive referred to ppls partners idk like that b4

i thought about wut could be wrong w that n maybe by referring to her that way im not treating her as her own independent person whos separate from him which could hurt her feelings

then i thought that at what point do we ignore feelings of others n idk

maybe it was misogynist for me to refer to her that way (then i thought about it n i was lie id prolly refer to ppls bfs that way but it could still be seen that way so i can see how itd feel bad)

the only thought i rlly had to counter this didnt really make sense so i think logically im in the wrong but i never would have thought abt this being an issue so im rlly surprised
